Transverse testicular ectopia with inguinal hernia in an adult—a case report

Abstract Background Transverse testicular ectopia (TTE) is a rare congenital anomaly in which both the testis are same hemiscrotum or one inguinal canal of side. It usually associated with other anomalies such as hernia, persistent Mullerian duct syndrome (PMDS), true hermaphroditism, and pseudo-hermaphroditism. In this case report, we present TTE an adult patient fused vas deferens, aplastic right seminal vesicle, side hernia. Case presentation A 33-year-old male came complaint severe pain scrotum for 2 days long-standing history inguinoscrotal swelling. Clinical examination revealed swelling was not palpable separately left at periphery hemiscrotum. Ultrasound imaging MRI testes hemiscrotum, hypoplastic patent process vaginalis non-obstructive, non-strangulated Surgical intervention transeptal orchidodpexy advised but performed due to patient’s unwillingness. Hence, recommended annual follow-up same. Conclusion The report emphasizes that though anomaly, it should be considered differential diagnosis patients absent and/or infertility, detailed biochemical investigation employed considering wide spectrum conditions.
